Taguig City Establishes Science Complex, Receives DOST-NCR Assistance for Interactive Labs

24 February 2023 – The DOST-National Capital Region MUNTAPARLAS Clustered Area Science and Technology Office (CASTO), provided assistance to the City Government of Taguig through the project, “Establishment of Interactive Science Education Complex and State of the Art Science Laboratory in Taguig City (ISEC-SAS Lab)”which will be located at the Taguig National High School, Taguig City.
This project will enhance the teaching and learning of science-based subjects among teachers and students in the K to 12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Track by engaging them through hands-on demonstrations in the classroom. This will also cover 3D printing, robotics, and space technologies.
Moreover, the laboratory will feature 3D printer equipment, mini fabrication laboratory equipment, robotics kits, virtual 3D glasses and interactive projector, Space Technology Application Exhibits developed by DOST-PCIEERD and Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology, and DOST’s Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosks (STARBOOKS).
DOST-NCR Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Engr. Romelen T. Tresvalles and MUNTAPARLAS CASTO Head Mr. Kim L. Atienza handed over the cheque amounting to Php 2,894,100 to Mr. Fil Garciano, representative from the Office of Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano.
