DOST-NCR, TESDA RTC-NCR Ink MOA for Deployment of S&T Digital Library
The DOST-NCR, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-NCR, and Regional Training Center (RTC) sealed a partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the TESDA Office, Taguig City on 06 March 2023 for the transfer of the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks (STARBOOKS) in TESDA RTC-NCR to aid in offering Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Courses.
STARBOOKS enables browsing of thousands of scientific journals, books, and other science and technology resources even in the absence of internet connection.
Being one of DOST-NCR’s interventions for human resource development, this S&T kiosk enables students and teachers to use readily available S&T resources for possible application in different learning areas.
Regional Director Florencio F. Sunico, Jr. of TESDA-NCR, Center Administrator Gilbert M. Castro initially received a unit of STARBOOKS turned over by DOST-NCR Chief Science Research Specialist and Officer-In-Charge, Engr. Romelen T. Tresvalles, to kick off the transfer of the said digital library to RTC-NCR as part of its learning resources.
