DOST-NCR Turns Over Computerized Embroidery Machine to Muntinlupa City Technical Institute
DOST-NCR Regional Director Jose B. Patalinjug III turned over a Computerized Embroidery Machine to the Muntinlupa City Technical Institute (MCTI) on 24 June 2022 at the MCTI Building in Brgy. Putatan, Muntinlupa City.
This initiative is in support of the Industrial Sewing Machine Operation (ISMO) and Dressmaking Course at MCTI, aiming to strengthen the garments sector, and Livelihood Sewing Program in Muntinlupa. The machine will enable beneficiaries to work on more intricate embroidery designs as well as improve the quality of their products.
A 5-day training on the proper use of the embroidery machine, which was participated in by 14 participants from MCTI was also conducted in partnership with Ms. Marilou Mundo, Former Embroidery Supervisor from Golden Mile Business Park, Carmona, Cavite.
At least 40 trainees of ISMO, dressmakers, and unemployed seamstresses from Southville 3 and other nearby barangays in the City will benefit from this initiative. The project is also expected to provide livelihood income opportunity not only to Muntinlupenyos but also to nearby communities in the Region.
Muntinlupa Lone District Congressman Rozzano Rufino Biazon, MCTI OIC-Director Mr. Francisco Santella, Lingkod Muntinlupa Foundation (LMF) President Atty. Camille Alcaraz also graced the event.
