Na SETUP ka na ba? Na-SETUP na sila!

More and more companies are realizing the transformational power of science, technology, and innovation in business as micro, small and medium enterprises sign up to be a part of the DOST’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

SETUP is DOST-NCR’s flagship program to assist Filipino entrepreneurs to sustain their growth by acquiring technical assistance and the appropriate technologies.

Bernas Kutsinta Food Products, Ayong Graphic Design, and Silkscreen Print, Esycon Industrial Trading, and Frank and Dean Coffee Shop were among the first batch of newly- approved SETUP cooperators which joined the orientation and formal signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the SETUP Innovation-Fund (iFund) assistance on March 10 and 13, 2023, respectively.

These MSMEs, which are into food processing, gifts, decors, metals, and engineering, were briefed on the various types of assistance that they will receive under the program, as well as the commitment that is expected from them to make these technical interventions successful.

The iFund is a technology-based assistance that aims to establish and upgrade a company’s production processes and capabilities. Aside from the iFund, program adoptors will be provided with technical support and consultancy, some of which includes plant layout and various training on productivity improvement, food safety, and good manufacturing practices.

The MOA signing and orientation for the new SETUP adoptors was spearheaded by the DOST-NCR’s MUNTAPARLAS Clustered Area Science and Technology Office (CASTO) Head Mr. Kim Atienza and SETUP focal person Mr. Mark Oliver Espiritu.
