DOST-NCR Partners with DOST-TAPI to Support Young Filipino Technopreneurs
The DOST-National Capital Region, in partnership with the DOST-Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI), conducted an orientation on the Youth Empowerment through Technopreneurship (YET) Program on 25 January 2022 via Zoom.
The YET Program, formerly known as the DOST-Academe Technology-Based Enterprise Development (DATBED) Program, aims to develop entrepreneurial competencies among college students and young professionals by providing financial assistance for the establishment of technology-based enterprises.
For eligible college students, a maximum assistance amounting to P250,000 for the acquisition of materials and production equipment is allotted to one (1) project which will comprise of five (5) students per school.
Meanwhile, a beneficiary will receive an amount not exceeding to P350,000 for the acquisition of materials and equipment for their approved Science-based enterprise for full commercialization under the Enterprise Development for Young Professionals program.
Furthermore, DOST-TAPI also offers the Venture Financing Program (VFP) facility which provides necessary funding support to acquire required production equipment for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that adopted DOST-funded technologies with a valid Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA).
Through these programs, young Filipinos will be able to develop their entrepreneurial skills through S&T intervention packages and initiatives.
