DOST-NCR Joins ‘Lakbay Teknolohiya para kay Juan at Juana’ in South Luzon
Officer-in-Charge for DOST-NCR Office of the Regional Director, Engr. Romelen T. Tresvalles led said Office’s league who joined the DOST Stakeholders’ Forum and Caravan: Bringing S&T Closer to the People (“Lakbay Teknolohiya para kay Juan at Juana”) from 17-18 October 2022 in Batangas State University-Main Campus, Batangas City.
The DOST Stakeholders’ Forum and Caravan, an initiative of the DOST-Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI), in partnership with the DOST Regional Offices, is aimed at promoting awareness on S&T interventions and technologies among the people.
Activities prepared for the 2-day event included a Stakeholders’ Forum on Technology Commercialization, SETUP Products Exhibit, Business-to-Business Meeting, Technology Pitching, and Press Conference.
Engr. Romelen T. Tresvalles also presented the Technology Transfer and Commercialization Landscape in the National Capital Region during the Technology Transfer Forum. The discussion focused on the identification of priority areas, issues, and gaps which can be used as basis for interventions in transferring and commercializing technologies.
Meanwhile, the B2B Meeting and Technology Pitching event served as an avenue for Local Government Units, academe, local business enterprises and entrepreneurs, and DOST-partner MSMEs to conduct business dialogues with DOST-assisted technology innovators and have a glimpse of the DOST-generated technologies that are ready for adoption and commercialization.
The South Luzon Cluster Caravan was spearheaded by the DOST- CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) headed by Regional Director Emelita P. Bagsit.
Other participating Regional Offices included DOST-NCR, DOST- MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), and DOST Region V (Bicol Region).
