"Kain Tayo sa Science Food Festival: Exploring the Science of Pinoy Food in the Metro"

DOST-NCR Food Festival, one of the Department's largest celebration of Metro Manila's finest and notable science and technology-infused local food products, returns for its 2nd year starting on May 26-28, 2023, at the Eastwood Central Plaza, Quezon City.

Just in time for the summer season, this year's food fiesta is anchored on the theme "Kain Tayo sa Science Food Festival: Exploring the Science of Pinoy Food in the Metro," in continuing partnership with Megaworld Corp. along with its celebration campaign titled "Tara, Pasyal Na!" which highlights local tourist spots, fashion, culture, arts and crafts, and food.

K-eeping the public's interest to indulge in the celebration, visitors can enjoy the 3-day fiesta full of flavorful activities such as food selling, food-making competition, technical forum regarding food techniques and technologies, food expert's clinic sessions, and a day with a food vlogger.

A-n authentic, cloud-nine food experience also awaits every festival goer as an array of popular and delicious Pinoy foods in the Metro such as Balut, Putong Polo, Lechon, Suman, Kutsinta, Pastil, Tsokolate Batirol, and many more will be showcased!

I-nteresting facts, aside from the cultural and historical significance, about how science works behind these local food products - why these foods look, smell, feel, and taste the way they do take the spotlight of this year's event as the S&T processes behind the delectable products that we enjoy each day will be unveiled.

N-ew and former merchant-partners including micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) beneficiaries of the DOST-NCR flagship programs Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP), Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST), and Innovations for Filipinos Working Distantly from the Philippines (iFWD PH) Program will dominate the fiesta booths and definitely satisfy your local food cravings.
