Muntinlupa Gov't Allocates Land for DOST-NCR, Eyes the Establishment of an STI Corridor

With the unwavering commitment of bringing science, technology, and innovation programs in Muntinlupa, DOST-NCR Regional Director Jose B. Patalinjug III and Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime R. Fresnedi signed a Deed of Usufruct on 01 June 2022 at the Muntinlupa City Hall.

This is to formalize the City's allocation of 700.45 square meters of land to DOST-NCR for the establishment of the latter's Regional Office which will eventually be a part of a Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Corridor.

The STI Corridor will facilitate the interplay of the DOST-NCR, City Government of Muntinlupa, and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) in the city such as the Colegio de Muntinlupa (CDM), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun), and other institutions like Muntinlupa City Technical Institute (MCTI).

Moreover, the STI Corridor will serve as a hub where visiting experts or consultants, researchers, inventors, innovators, and students can conceptualize, discuss, and build S&T-based solutions to the issues concerning the entire region through research and development, innovations, and process and product development focused on emerging sectors.

This will also channel outputs from the research and development institutes at the DOST Complex in Taguig to the south part of Metro Manila and its nearby areas.
