DOST-NCR Develops EB Certification Portal for 2022 Elections; Conducts System Performance Testing

In response to the restrictions posed by the pandemic, the DOST-National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) developed an online portal to automate the written examination, which is part of the certification process conducted for teachers who will serve as Electoral Board members during the National and Local Elections (NLE) in May 2022. The DOST EB Certification Portal was subjected to performance testing on January 17-24, 2022.

The performance testing, which is a combination of load and stress testing, aims to check the system performance to identify possible issues such as system bugs, and downtime behavior. This will also help identify other features needed to ensure that the Portal meets or exceeds the passing evaluation ratio using the ISO 9126 system testing standards.

Certifiers from the DOST Regional Offices, other DOST agencies, and SUCs from different regions participated in the said nationwide system testing.

In partnership with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the EB Portal will be rolled out for use nationwide during the Certification Program which will commence in March 2022. DOST-NCR Regional Director Jose B. Patalinjug III has been serving as the Program Leader for the DOST Certification Program since 2019.
