ALT+TAB Festival 2026: Where Science Meets Sound, Screens, and Stories
Science. Music. Gaming. Pop Culture. One festival for an immersive celebration of Filipino creativity and innovation.
This June 20-21, 2026, Gridlock Games Studio and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will bring the ALT+TAB Festival to the SMX Convention Center — a two-day event highlighting the growing intersection of science, technology, and innovation (STI) and the country’s rapidly evolving creative industries.
The festival reflects DOST’s continuing support for the creative industries through research, capability-building, innovation programs, and partnerships that encourage Filipino creativity and technological innovation. Through the Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda (HNRDA) 2022–2028, DOST identifies game development, animation, and film as STI priority areas.
Founded on the belief that Filipino developers have the creativity and drive to compete on the global stage, Gridlock Games Studio continues to champion local talent through gaming experiences and community-driven initiatives, with ALT+TAB Festival serving as one of its biggest platforms yet.
Visitors can explore interactive exhibits, Filipino-developed games, emerging technologies, and innovation-driven products from local inventors through the DOST x Filipino Inventors Multi-Purpose Cooperative (FISMPC) InventrePinoy OneStore Hub.
The event will also feature the regional winners of the Level Up: Esports Game Development Challenge and dedicated spaces where gaming and tech enthusiasts can demo, test, and co-create game prototypes while exploring technologies for creative merchandise production.
Beyond exhibits and playable demos, the festival will host discussions on the future of esports, game development, and digital creativity in the Philippines.
By working together, DOST and Gridlock Games Studio aim to open more opportunities for students, developers, creatives, gamers, inventors, and technology enthusiasts to explore the future of Filipino creativity and innovation.
ALT+TAB Festival is where creativity, technology, and community come together — creating new possibilities for the next generation of Filipino innovators and creators.
