The Department of Science and Technology-National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) teamed up with local government units (LGUs) and schools from the MUNTAPARLAS cluster (Muntinlupa, Taguig, Pateros, Paranaque and Las Pinas) as it successfully conducted the first DOST-NCR MUNTAPARLAS Science and Technology Cluster Fair on September 26-28, 2016. The three-day event was held in three locations within Muntinlupa namely: the Municipal City Hall, Muntinlupa Science High School (MSHS), and Muntinlupa City Technical Institute (MCTI).
Students, faculty members, entrepreneurs and visitors from different municipalities in Metro Manila joined the event where fora, interactive exhibits, and bazaars were conducted.
In his welcome remarks, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi emphasized that they are grateful to DOST-NCR for selecting Muntinlupa City as the venue for the first Science and Technology Cluster Fair in Metro Manila. He reiterated that their municipality is one with DOST in strengthening the delivery of technical and technological services of the Department to more Filipinos in the region.
Meanwhile, Dr. Carol M. Yorobe, DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations, expressed that DOST is delighted as it marks another milestone for conducting its first S&T Cluster Fair. She added that local government units in Metro Manila can rest assured that DOST will continue to provide high quality S&T services to secure inclusive growth in the country.
